Axmouth is a coastal village located in the county of Devon, in the south-west of England. Situated on the eastern side of Lyme Bay, it lies at the mouth of the River Axe, from which it takes its name. The village is known for its sandy beach and the adjacent Axmouth Beach, which offers views across the bay towards Lyme Regis. The area is popular with walkers and those interested in geology, as the cliffs reveal a range of geological formations from the Jurassic period. The village has a small harbour, and the River Axe is navigable for small boats. Axmouth is part of the Axmouth and Lyme Regis ward, and the local postcode area is EX12.
