About this game

Which Is Further North is a UK geography game built from real town coordinates. British north and south are famously counter-intuitive, which is exactly what makes it fun. Sharpen up with the interactive map of UK counties.

How do you play?

You are shown two British towns. Click the one you think is further north. Get it right and your streak grows; get it wrong and the game ends. See how long a run you can build.

Why is it so hard?

British geography is not as tidy as it feels. Liverpool is further north than Hull, Bristol is south of Cardiff, and Edinburgh sits on a similar latitude to Moscow. The obvious answer is often wrong.
